  • Anything Goes

This arrangement of Anything goes is scored as a female vocal, very much in the style of Ella Fitzgerald. The intro features the rarely heard verse before moving into swing tempo at a medium 120 beats per minute, with muted brass backing the first vocal chorus. The second chorus is led by the saxes, followed by a full ensemble leading to the vocal return for the middle eight to the end of the chorus, with a brief ensemble shout to finish. The saxes are scored to double Flute, Clarinets and Bass Clarinet for the intro, though all parts have cues for saxes which allows the chart to be played by a regular AATTB section with no doubles. Brass ranges are very moderate, with lead Trumpet to a written A and lead Trombone to G. The vocal key is Gm / G major. Learn More
  • Anything Goes

Here's Nelson Riddle's famous arrangement from Frank Sinatra's classic record 'Song for Swingin' Lovers,' recorded in 1956. The arrangement opens with the guitar playing a little syncopated figure and alto 1 on flute. Trombones are on cup mutes for the vocal entrance. Unlike other Riddle/Sinatra charts from this period, there isn't any instrumental section in this arrangement - there are vocals throughout. This isn't really that difficult of an arrangement, but just a really great showcase for your male vocalist. Alto 1 doubles on flute. Learn More
  • Apple Blossom Time

ANDREW SISTERS BIG BAND GIRL VOCAL CHART. This arrangement of the Andrews Sisters version of Apple Blossom Time shows a more sentimental side of the trio's repertoire. Unusually, the chart is only scored for 3 voices, 4 Trombones & 4 Rhythm. There are no parts for Trumpets or Saxes, so it can be used as a showcase for your bone-section & singers. Faithfully transcribed by Alan Glasscock by referencing a number of recordings that the Sisters made, in order to achieve complete authenticity & accuracy. This number will sit well in any set, particularly as a late-night closer. Learn More
  • Apple Honey

This version follows the form of the Woody Herman original, though the solo spaces less cluttered.  Because of the speed this chart is rated advanced. Learn More
  • April In Paris

This version of April in Paris has been lovingly assembled from a number of recordings done by the Basie band of this fabulous Wild Bill Davis chart, and has a richer, lusher, more authentic feel than previous / current offerings published by other companies. We have taken down the Henderson Chambers' Trombone solo (on Bass Bone, but cross cued on the other parts), and the stunning Phil Guilbeau Trumpet solo (written out), both from Basie's Sept.1965 London concert. The Trumpet solo in particular is in a different league to Basie's early "pop goes the weasel" version, though your player can improvise from the chords provied too. We have included the "one moe time" ending too, should you wish to tease the crowds. This chart will not disappoint. Learn More
  • ARAB DANCE

This has been published directly from the original manuscript, edited by Jeffrey Sultanof. This master edition comes with complete background and performance notes. This concert arrangement is scored for 7 reeds, 3 trumpets, 2 French horns, 2 trombones, guitar, piano, bass, and drums. See below for complete instrumentation including information on reed doubling. The two French horns have been scored into trumpet 4 and trombone 3 parts, so this piece may be played without them. Approximately 4:30 in length. Learn More
  • Arthur's Theme (Best that you can do)

A full concert band instrumental chart of this great rock ballad which follows the original recording. As well as full woodwind, brass, percussion, drum kit, congas, keyboard & electric bass parts are included. The Alto Sax solo has been transcribed from the original Christopher Cross CD to complete this classic number. A great favorite with audiences. Learn More
  • At Last

The Miller band had several version of this chart, & ours is drawn from the version in the film 'Orchestra Wives'. Whilst it is not the complete film version, with both male & female vocal, it has the same dramatic opening with Billy May's trumpet solo then into the Sax soli, followed by a Trombone soli in even time, accompanied by Piano obligato. Then follows the modulation into the vocal chorus (in the key of A) & final band flourish. There is no audio file here, but for those of you who know the film, the above description should tell you all you need to know!! Lead Alto in on Clarinet throughout, & Baritone doubles Alto. • At Sundown

This is Artie Shaw's 1939 version of At Sundown, from the time when his first band was arguably at its height. The arrangement has been adapted from the original 3 Trumpet 3 Trombone line-up, to a regular 4 4 brass section, & the Reeds are scored for Clarinet, 2 Altos & 2 Tenors. We have written out Shaw's Clarinet solo in full along with the Tenor & Trumpet solos, but have left the Piano solo as an improvisation. All the soloists have the chords on their parts should they wish to do their own thing.  There are no Sax doubles. Learn More

  • Azulito

BIG BAND LATIN INSTRUMENTAL. Recorded by the Cuban band leader Mario Bauza and featured on the 1994 CD "Latin Jazz". Nascente NSCD008. Bring the excitement of this lively instrumental salsa to your next concert or club date. Plenty of section work, plus written out trumpet, tenor and trombone solos with riff backings and an open montuno section with a proper Cuban piano part. Top notes Bb for lead trumpet and G for trombone. The original album recording is in Bb. We have taken it down to F to keep brass ranges within an Intermediate Level. This chart will also work with 4 front line, 3 rhythm and 2 percussion Learn More
  • B-19

B-19 is a driving swing number, clearly taking some influences from tunes such as Sing Sing Sing & Bizet Has His Day & the chart has a raw & angry feel about it, as one might expect from a tune whose name is that of a famous aircraft. Being a Harry James chart there is naturally a big solo spot for Trumpent (HJ's chorus is fully written out on the 2nd Trumpet part) & we have transcribed the Tenor solo too. The original was recorded by HJ with a string section. However, we have modified the arrangement & written the strings back into the Saxes & given a solo spot to 1st Trombone. Learn More
